Retrospection: Persona 4 (Story) Chapter  10

After a few weeks of hiatus Chapter 10 was uploaded this week, and includes a two part chapter, plus a one hour special. Why make it a hour long you ask? Well it's mainly because there wasn't a good place to cut the video in a meaningful way. If I just made one part where I defeat the side quest it would have been a 8 min video. Nor did I  want to cut the video in the middle of the main boss fight. In the end I decided to keep what would usually be a two parter as one whole hour long video. It is by far the longest video I have made, or uploaded for thse Persona videos and it sure took a long time to upload.

This weeks chapter deals with Void Quest, and basically revolves finding the man the Inaba police depatment believe is the killer. Since this is a story focused playthrough, and not a complete walkthrough I usually skip a lot of dungeon traversal stuff, and grinding out the Protagonist. Being a gamer, and being able to appreciate the classic old school video games, Void Quest is one of my favourite dungeons in Persona 4. The whole dungeon is structed and visually designed like a old SNES or Sega Genesis game. As you ascend the stairs to each level of this dungeon, you get prompted about Mitsuo's current stats like if he was playing an old school RPG. Basically the game makes Mitsuo out to be ultimate sterotypcial Otaku, his world is a video game. Let's just talk generally for second, not neccessarily Otakus but, just the sterotypcial depiction of gamers now, I wonder what the world of a "Gamer" or would looks like now for the current gamer, would we end up in a world made of Unreal Engine, FrostByte Engine, or even Crytec Engine? Would it just be the Call of Duty / Battefield Setting, perhaps when the new Elders Scrolls / Oblivion, (more commonly known as Skyrim) comes out, or will the world invisioned by some gamers look like it came out of  Minecraft?

Note: Minor Spoliers Follow about future parts of the game:

As for the current status of playthrough thus far: still no Naoki Konishi this week, I was really hoping to finally getting to unlocking that social link. I hope to do it soon. Although we are getting close to getting our first max social link. Right now looking like it might be between Nanoko, Chie, Yumi and the Fox as the first maxed social link. To max out the Fox is harder since I need to catch a rare Guardian Fish for the Old man in order to accomplish the last Shrine request (and encase you didn't know that's what the screenshot above is referring to....). I've done this before in other playthroughs of Persona 4 but specifically remember there is a month in which Guardian Fish you are more likely to come across a Guardian Fish and it might have to be while its raining. According to the screenshot below, the last time I caught a Guardian was in November, while it was raining, but It's only the first week of August right now in my current playthrough you guys are watching.

Footage of last time I caught a guardian.
