The dogs are sleepy in Sleeping Dogs, and I think the name of the main character, "Wei Shen" is a phonogram for dangerous in Mandarin. Last week I recorded the first Sleeping Dogs gameplay video, showcasing the games darker and violent themes and combat mechanics. Having played not much more than the first hour, Sleeping Dogs' combat seem like they have depth, but since I've been playing a lot of Witcher 2 lately, these batman arkham asylum-like mechanics will take time to get used to. Playing the PC version the controls are manageable, they did a good job translating the controls to mouse and keyboard. The driving in particular, I've heard that the developers who designed the driving in the game also formerly worked the Need For Speed games. One thing I wish could be change is that the sprint button and vaulting are on the same key. For instance, one needs to press and hold to sprint-then quickly double tap space quickly in order to make a smooth transition from running to jumping over cover. I must prefer if the actions were on seperate keys. However, it may just be that I need to get used to the rhythm.
The Witcher 2 videos are back! As of this weekend I have finally moved to Chapter 3 of the narrative, and the videos wrapping up Chapter 2 are going to be uploaded steadily and soon. If you have kept up with the playthrough now is a perfect time to jump back in, perhaps rewatch some previous videos. Next week as we are approaching Chapter 3 I ccan start writing about why I decided to have Geralt make the chooses he did. I plan to hopefully, wrap up the playthrough soon. Below is a video from the Witcher 2 playthrough, showing a man in a chicken suit (why you ask? watch the playthrough!)
